AIA UK Website Redesign

Main Project Image

Redesigning the AIA UK website experience to promote the organisation's growth

The AIA UK website serves as a pivotal platform for architects and design professionals across the UK. However, the original website presented several usability challenges, including complex navigation, inconsistent visual design, and limited content accessibility. As the sole Product Designer, I led the project end-to-end—from UX research and information architecture to UI design, usability testing, and implementation. I created a brand-new experience that is intuitive, visually engaging, and effectively communicates the organisation's value to its members and the wider architectural community. The redesigned website improves usability while supporting the organisation's growth by increasing user engagement, content discoverability, and conversion opportunities.

Elevating the Experience of Professional Services for Architectural Professionals

The AIA UK website supports a diverse audience, including prospective members, students, practising architects, sponsors and volunteers, each with distinct needs and goals. My challenge was to create a single, intuitive experience that served all of these audiences through clear information architecture, intuitive navigation and accessible design—without adding unnecessary complexity. The redesign needed to do more than modernise the interface. It also had to improve discoverability, increase engagement and support membership growth while working within the technical capabilities of Squarespace. Every design decision balanced user needs, organisational objectives and implementation feasibility to deliver a scalable, future-ready platform.
